One of the most interesting and unusual contemporary art projects is the Thailand Biennale, organised by the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture. Interesting because it will be presented outdoors in the beautiful province of Krabi in the south of Thailand. Amongst the stunning karsts, white sand beaches and lush forests, there are three aims of the Biennale. Firstly, making space for 10 new, nominated international artists to present their art work. Secondly, an exhibition featuring national and international artists, entitled Edge of the Wonderland. Thirdly workshops and conferences for academics and artists to share their artistic knowledge and experience. Organisers say the idea is to explore links between nature and art, promoting new artists and creating a space for artists, academics and art lovers to come together in a natural environment.
The exhibition starts on 2nd November 2018, in various sites all over Krabi, until 28th February 2019.
