Bangkok Biennial is an alternative and underground art festival motivated to challenge the more commercially run exhibitions. The focus is on experimental approaches in art and daily life with no prescribed theme. There’s no central curator or sponsors and no venue limitations, some events will be held virtually. The exhibitions are held in pavilions which can be constructed by any artists. The focus of each pavilion depends on the artistic vision of the individuals. The resulting theme of the Biennial will depend on the mixed focus of all pavilions. In this way, the organisation aims to create an alternative to the traditional top down approach to exhibitions and allow unlimited participation.
The Bangkok Biennial runs from July to September 2018. Check out the website for venues.
