Leave from Pasar Agung at 01.30 a.m. to the top of Mt. Agung. It takes 3 ½ to 4 hours walking under normal conditions. We climb to the top in darkness. There are 3 stages on the way to the top:
Pasar Agung-Telaga Mas Temple We walk past a tropical forest which takes 1½ hour. It is a pretty steep trail so be prepared for this hard start.
Telaga Mas Temple-Buffalo Stone This trek is normally covered in 1 hour and still passes through tropical plantation. Here, similar to the first part of our trek, you will walk passed a pretty steep trail with loose volcanic sand and stone. This is an even more challenging trek .
Buffalo Stone-Summit It takes about 1½ hour or less depending on your spirit and condition. It’s a great trip. At certain points you have to crawl and use your two hands to help you move along. Don’t try to stand upright. You’ll walk along stones and sediments of lava that have become as hard as stone itself. When arriving on the summit overlooking the east you will be rewarded with a spectacular view of the sunrise and Mt. Rinjani all the way up in Lombok. If we look to the west you will have a view of Mt. Batu Karu, one of the holiest mountains on Bali Island. |

Three nights of pure adventure, exploring Komodo, Rinca & surrounding islands by boat.

East Java (Java Timur in Bahasa Indonesia) is the easternmost part of the island of Java. it includes the island of Madura and some other smaller islands in the region. The capital of East Java is Surabaya, the second largest city in Indonesia and a major industrial center and port. East Java is the second most populated province in Indonesia, after West Java. The population consists of Javanese, Madurese and a sizeable Chinese community.
Most visitors to East Java only see the Bromo volcano, the star attraction in the region, located around 70 kilometers from Surabaya. The Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park it sits in is a popular hiking destination. Typically, people will stay near the bromo overnight and hike or ride on horseback to the volcanoe at sunrise. While its views are indeed spectacular, East Java has a lot more to offer.

Malang is the second largest city in East Java, Indonesia. It is traditionally known as a place to unwind and relax for people stressed out from big city life. Due to its elevation, Malang has a cool climate, although according to native Malang people (known as Arema, an abbreviation of Arek Malang), it has gradually gotten hotter in Malang.
Malang is not as crowded and busy as other cities on Java such as Jakarta or Surabaya, so the air feels cleaner and the atmosphere is more laidback. The city features some malls, good restaurants, a variety of hotels, tourist attractions, good schools/universities. All in all Malang is a friendly city, where every visitor will feel at home.
Malang doesn’t just have mountains, but also beaches and waterfalls. Some of the waterfalls can be found in Batu, just 45 minutes from Malang. The one which is the easiest to get is Coban Rondo (coban means waterfall).
Another waterfall in Batu is Coban Ondo, close to Cangar, the warm water spring. This waterfall is not as well known, so it is less crowded there. The access to the waterfall is not as easy as getting to Coban Rondo. Ondo means stairs and to get there you have to climb a long stairway!

The nightfall shields the day and transforms it in different ways, particularly in Dolly, Surabaya. In an approximately 5 meter wide 150 meter long alley, the night brings an extremely different atmosphere. Walking passed the alley that morning, I hardly noticed that beautiful girls flocked the area. Some sleepy girls were hanging around some food vendors and warung (eateries).
There was no sign of any hospitality; no greetings and bright smiles followed by whispers ones ear and tender caresses. No soaring music, bright lights, quasi-dancing, sensual wriggling. Various parking lots contained only some motorcycles and mobiles. Some passersby peeping into a house seemed disappointed and rushed to the end of the alley. The call of the prayer amplified by speakers of the nearby mosques. It’s ten minutes to six and dusk, time to go to the mosque. A couple of hours ago no one in Dolly had that holy place in mind.
