COLOMBO — Sri Lanka’s inflation is expected to rise to 5 percent next year after the government increases the value-added tax (VAT) to 18 percent from January 2024, a state minister said on Sunday.
State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said in the parliament that currently, the inflation rate hovers between 3 percent and 3.5 percent in the South Asian country. (Sri Lanka-Inflation)
