HANOI, July 5 (Xinhua) — Vietnam spent over 8 billion U.S. dollars on cloth import in the first half of this year, posting a rise of 10.3 percent year on year, according to the country’s General Statistics Office on Tuesday.

Between January and June, Vietnam imported some 667,000 tons of cotton worth nearly 1.8 billion dollars, down 24.3 percent in volume but up 12.9 percent in value year on year.
