HANOI, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) — Vietnam reported 8,601 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, including 8,575 locally transmitted and 26 imported, according to the Ministry of Health.

The Vietnamese capital Hanoi remained the locality with the highest number of infections on Thursday with 2,738 cases, followed by central Thanh Hoa province with 463 cases and central Quang Nam province with 356 cases.
