HANOI, March 31 (Xinhua) — Vietnam reported 80,838 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, down 4,927 from Wednesday, according to its Ministry of Health.

The new infections, logged in 62 localities nationwide, included 80,827 domestically transmitted and 11 imported.

The Vietnamese capital Hanoi remained the epidemic hotspot with 8,054 new cases on Thursday, followed by the northern Phu Tho province with 3,415
