HANOI, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) — Vietnam reported 16,040 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, including 16,026 locally transmitted and 14 imported, according to its Ministry of Health.

The Vietnamese capital Hanoi remained the most affected region with the highest number of infections on Friday with 3,029 cases, followed by central Da Nang city with 765 cases and central Binh Dinh province with 711 cases.
