COLOMBO, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) — Sri Lanka’s merchandise export earnings increased by 10.24 percent in August, the country’s Export Development Board (EDB) said on Tuesday.

Merchandise export earnings stood at 1.21 billion U.S. dollars in August. This was mainly due to the increase in earnings from export of apparel and textiles, which rose by 15.03 percent.
