COLOMBO, May 22 (Xinhua) — Sri Lanka received 248.9 million U.S. dollars in workers’ remittances in April, a drop of over 50 percent compared to the same period of last year, the central bank said on Sunday.

Between January and April 2021, Sri Lanka received 2.38 billion dollars in workers’ remittances, which have dropped to 1.03 billion dollars this year, according to the central bank.
