COLOMBO, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) — Sri Lanka launched a supplementary measles immunization campaign on Saturday following a surge in cases, the health ministry said in a press release.

The ministry said the campaign was launched at 1,600 centers in nine districts of the country.

Ministry Secretary Palitha Mahipala said children aged between six and nine months will be given a supplementary dose.
