COLOMBO, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) — Sri Lanka’s navy said on Wednesday that it confiscated 2,223 kg of smuggled kendu leaves a day earlier on the northwestern coast of the South Asian country.

The naval personnel recovered 70 packages of smuggled kendu leaves and took into custody a motor bicycle at the beach, which is suspected to be used to distribute the smuggled kendu leaves, the navy said in a press release.
