SINGAPORE, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) — Singapore reported 8,176 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the country’s total tally to 2,046,123.

Of the new cases, 837 were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 7,339 through ARTs (antigen rapid test), according to statistics released by the country’s Ministry of Health.

Among the PCR cases, 805 were local transmissions and 32 were imported
