SINGAPORE, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) — Singapore reported 5,481 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total tally to 1,786,643.

Of the new cases, 600 cases were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 4,881 through antigen rapid tests, or ART according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.
