MANILA, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) — The Philippines reported 2,452 new COVID-19 infections on Friday, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the Southeast Asian country to 3,886,395.

The Department of Health said the number of active cases rose to 23,703, while 46 more patients died from COVID-19 complications, pushing the country’s death toll to 61,910.
