MANILA, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) — The Philippines reported 1,483 new COVID-19 infections on Thursday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the Southeast Asian country to 4,045,358.

The Department of Health said the number of active cases rose to 17,994, while 26 more patients died from COVID-19 complications, taking the country’s death toll to 64,820.
