MANILA, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) — The Philippines’ Department of Health (DOH) reported 7,689 new COVID-19 infections on Saturday, pushing the number of confirmed cases in the Southeast Asian country to 3,601,471.

The DOH said only one more person died from COVID-19 complications, bringing the country’s death toll to 54,214. The number of active cases dropped to 136,436 as the country’s positivity rate fell further to 2
