ISLAMABAD, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) — Pakistan’s consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, rose 27.55 percent in January as compared to the same month a year ago when it was recorded at 12.96 percent, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said Wednesday.

The CPI in January also witnessed a year-on-year rise from December as it went through an increase of 24.5 percent in the previous month, according to PBS.
