COLOMBO, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) — Over 35 people were hospitalized after a head-on collision between two buses in Sri Lanka’s Southern Province on Sunday morning, police said in a statement.

Six individuals sustained serious injuries and were receiving treatment at the main hospital in Matara District, according to police.

Local media reported that it was raining at the time of the accident.
