YANGON, Myanmar – Last week, a court inside Yangon’s Insein Prison sentenced ten peoplea journalist and nine student activiststo three years in prison for their opposition to the military dictatorship.

Five members of Yangon student unions, four university students, and a freelance journalist named Zaw Lin Htut, who is an alumnus, were among those sentenced for sedition under Section 505a.
