YANGON, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) — The Shwedagon Pagoda, also known as the Golden Pagoda in Myanmar, attracted over 8.65 million visitors in 2024, U Boe Thin, a member of the Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees told Xinhua on Thursday.

Among these, over 90,000 were foreign visitors, with the majority coming from China, Thailand and Vietnam, he said.
