YANGON, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) — Myanmar confirmed 84 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total tally to 615,399, according to the Ministry of Health on Friday.

The health ministry said in a statement that these cases included five infected people who returned from abroad.

It added that health authorities tested 8,951 people for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, and the daily positivity rate
