YANGON, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) — Myanmar experienced 1,237 natural disasters from April to December 2024, according to the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement on Monday.

This is a decrease from the 1,670 natural disasters recorded during the same period in 2023, Daw Lay Shwe Sin Oo, a director from the department told Xinhua.
