YANGON, Myanmar – The shadow National Unity Government’s (NUG) Yangon Region Military Command confirmed that they were behind the shooting of Myanmar’s deputy central bank governor on Thursday morning.

According to the command’s statement, Than Swe, 55, was shot in her home at Shwegon Yeik Mon Residence in Yangon’s Bahan Township. The NUG declined to comment further on the incident.
