NAYPYITAW, Myanmar – The Myanmar military’s proxy party held its annual central committee meeting in Naypyitaw amid tight security and expectations of a senior leadership shakeup.

According to party sources, more than 400 central committee members of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) attended the gathering at the party’s headquarters in Naypyitaw’s Dekkhinathiri Township.
