YANGON, Myanmar – Despite calls to block or postpone the sale due to legal and ethical concerns, Telenor defends its choice to sell its Myanmar network and user data.

Telenor Group, the Norwegian telecom giant, said on Friday that there were “no good alternatives” to selling its Myanmar division due to the company’s rising security concerns following the military takeover last year.
