KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) — Malaysia’s crime index fell 4.1 percent year on year to 50,813 cases in 2022, official data showed Thursday.

The Department of Statistics said in a statement that the country’s commercial crime also decreased by 3 percent to 30,536 cases in 2022.

The country’s cyber crime, however, surged 44.3 percent to 577 cases in 2022 from 400 cases a year ago.
