KUALA LUMPUR, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) — Malaysia reported another 3,997 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Thursday, bringing the national total to 2,754,513, according to the health ministry.

Of the new cases, 366 are imported, with 3,631 being local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

Another 34 more deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 31,462.
