KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) — Malaysia reported 3,516 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Wednesday, bringing the national total to 4,744,929, according to the health ministry.

There were three new imported cases, with 3,513 cases being local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

Another 15 deaths were reported, pushing the death toll to 36,117.
