KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) — Malaysia reported 1,743 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Tuesday, bringing the national total to 4,885,539, according to the Health Ministry.

There was one new imported case, with 1,742 cases being local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

Five new deaths were reported, leaving the death toll at 36,452.
