KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) — Malaysia reported another 14,990 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Wednesday, bringing the national total to 2,142,924, according to the health ministry.

Five of the new cases are imported and 14,985 are local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

Another 487 more deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 24,565.
