VIENTIANE, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) — A total of 26 people were killed in road accidents in Laos over five days of new year celebrations, down 17 deaths from the same period last year.

Some 311 people were injured and 323 vehicles damaged in 190 road accidents across the country, with the majority of the accidents caused by drunk-driving, local media reported on Wednesday.
