KAREN STATE, Myanmar – Over the past three days, an army outpost meters away from Myanmar’s border with Thailand has seen heavy fighting as it has been attacked by Karen National Union (KNU) forces.

The outpost was attacked on Sunday by troops from the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the Karen National Defence Organisation (KNDO), both of which are under the command of the Karen National Union (KNU).
