YANGON, Myanmar – On Thursday, a junta-controlled court in Yangon sentenced seven people to ten years in prison for robbing banks to fund the armed struggle against the military regime.

In July, the group allegedly stole 18.5 million kyats (about $10,000) from the Global Treasure Bank in South Okkalapa Township.
