TOKYO, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) — The Japanese government has overstated monthly data on construction orders for some eight years, officials said Wednesday.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has repeatedly counted some of the data received from the same businesses when compiling the data on monthly construction orders since fiscal 2013, according to the officials.
