JAKARTA, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) — The Indonesian authorities said on Wednesday that the country is accelerating the development of nuclear power plants as part of its energy transition agenda.

Indonesia’s National Energy Council (DEN) has appointed Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, to lead the country’s Nuclear Energy Program Implementation Organization (NEPIO).
