JAKARTA, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) — The Indonesian government was increasing methanol production to support the mandatory 50 percent biodiesel program (B50), which is set to begin next year, Bahlil Lahadalia, energy and mineral resources minister, said on Friday.

According to Bahlil, the national methanol need per year will be at 2.3 million tons, while domestic production will be around 500,000 tons.
