TANAHUN, Nepal – The death toll in the Tanahun bus tragedy rose to 27 on the weekend.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Santosh Paudel of the Traffic Police Office in Tanahun, twenty-seven of the 43 people on the bus died, while sixteen were injured.

The incident occurred when an Indian-registered bus on its way to Kathmandu from Pokhara crashed into the Marsyangdi River in Anbu Khaireni at 11:
