HIMACHAL PRADESH, India: Indian officials said that over the past three days, floods and
landslides triggered by monsoon rains killed at least 50 people in northern and eastern India.

Hundreds of villages were struck by the floods, washing away houses and leaving residents stranded. Rescue crews raced to evacuate survivors.
