BEIJING, China: Myanmar’s military has successfully brokered a cease-fire agreement with a coalition of ethnic minority guerrilla groups it has been in conflict with in the northeastern region of the country.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry made this announcement on January 12, and it has been confirmed by Myanmar’s military government and the ethnic alliance involved.
