BEIJING, April 1 (Xinhua) — Du Zhaocai, deputy minister of China’s State General Administration of Sport, was elected as the President of the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) at the 10th EAFF Congress in Doha, Qatar, on Friday.

Du is the only candidate and will serve in this position for the next four-year term that runs until 2026.

Du attended the conference online from Beijing due to the COVID-19
