PHNOM PENH – With elections just a few months away, young Cambodians have a message for their government: ‘We are hungry for truthful and independent news.’

More than 10 youth organizations in the country have petitioned Cambodia’s Ministry of Information calling for authorities to reinstate independent media outlet Voice of Democracy.

The outlet was closed on February 13, on the orders of Prime Minister Hu
