KATHMANDU, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) — Nepali farmers are expected to harvest a record of 5.95 million tons of paddy rice in 2024 as good monsoon rains and the availability of chemical fertilizers helped boost productivity, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development said on Friday.

The figure marks a 4.04-percent rise over 5.72 million tons in 2023, the ministry said in a press statement.
