UNITED NATIONS, June 9 (Xinhua) — The Bangladeshi ambassador to the United Nations, Rabab Fatima, has been appointed high representative for the least developed countries, landlocked developing countries and small island developing states, a UN spokesman said on Thursday.

Fatima succeeds Courtenay Rattray of Jamaica, who has been appointed chef de cabinet for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
