KATHMANDU, Nepal – Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal was removed from office on Friday, more than a year and six months after being appointed, after failing to gain a vote of confidence during a House of Representatives floor test.

Dahal failed to get the 138 votes needed to pass the trust motion, with only 63 legislators voting in his favor in the 275-member House of Representatives.
