COLOMBO, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) — Five people died when a tree fell on a bus in Colombo on Friday morning, a spokesperson for the Colombo National Hospital told media.

The bus was heading to Deniyaya in southern Sri Lanka from Colombo when the accident took place.

Seventeen passengers were injured and were receiving medical treatment at the Colombo National Hospital, police said.
