JAKARTA, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) — A 5.7 magnitude earthquake hit off Indonesia’s western province of Banten earlier Wednesday, yet did not trigger a tsunami, the country’s meteorology, climatology and geophysics agency said.

The agency has earlier released the magnitude of the undersea earthquake of 5.9 before revising it.
