YANGON, April 21 (Xinhua) — Sixteen people were killed and 55 others injured in 34 road accidents throughout Myanmar during the celebrations of the country’s traditional New Year from April 13 to 16, traffic police said on Friday.
The main causes of the road accidents during the period were drunk driving and reckless driving, Soe Myint Oo, a police officer from the country’s traffic police force, told Xinhua.
