COLOMBO — Sri Lankan authorities on Monday said the country had unearthed the world’s largest natural corundum crystal blue sapphire in Ratnapura, about 113 km away from the capital Colombo, local media reported.

Authorities said the stone weighed 310 kg and was blue and white in color. It was named “Queen of Asia” by experts in the gem industry, authorities said. (Sri Lanka-Gem)
