KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) — Malaysia reported another 9,751 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Friday, bringing the national total to 2,323,478, according to the health ministry.

Some 15 of the new cases are imported and 9,736 are local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

Another 78 more deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 27,191.
